Medium Roast
Savory, smooth, and built to drink black. Our medium roast is the straightforward one — low acidity, a clean finish, nothing sharp or smoky getting in the way. It holds up in a drip machine, a pour-over, or a French press without much fussing over it, which makes it the bag to reach for at 6am. If you're not sure where to start with Lava Javas, start here.

Light Roast
Bright, floral, and subtly sweet — a lighter side of the volcano. A light roast blend of Ethiopian, Mexican and Brazilian beans, pulled early so the fruit and florals survive the roaster instead of getting scorched out of it. Refreshing rather than heavy. Best as a pour-over or in an AeroPress, where there's room for the brightness to show. For anyone who finds dark roast too smoky.

Medium Roast
Smooth volcanic richness with caramel undertones — balanced, and the easiest one to keep in the cupboard. A medium roast with Brazilian, Colombian and Guatemalan beans: rounded and sweet, with enough body to stand up to milk and enough clarity to drink without it. If you want one coffee that keeps everyone in the house happy, this is the house coffee.

Dark Roast
Bold, deep, unapologetically dark. A dark roast of Brazilian and Mexican beans taken far enough to bring out cocoa and toasted sugar, with a heavy body and a long, smoky finish. Made for espresso, a moka pot, or anyone who takes their coffee strong enough to stand a spoon in. Not a subtle cup, and not trying to be.

Decaf
Smooth, mellow, and full of dark chocolate — a naturally decaffeinated Indonesian single origin. Indonesian beans bring the weight and the cocoa this one is known for, and the decaf process leaves that body intact rather than hollowing it out. Same depth as the caffeinated bags, minus the caffeine. The one you can drink at nine at night and still sleep.
